At K9U we help you learn how to improve or correct your dog’s behaviour, by teaching you and the dog basic obedience tasks such as: Sit, Down, Stand, Focus, Take it, Leave it, Heel, Come. Problem resolution sessions include guidance on: housetraining, excessive barking, inappropriate chewing, jumping, puppy nipping and mouthing, unruly behaviour such as begging, stealing food, getting on furniture, digging and bolting.
When it comes to improving your dog’s behaviour you have options. At K9U we offer COACHING to help you learn how to train your dog on obedience cues and behaviour modifications. TRAINING is where K9U teaches the dog for you and transfers the cues to you, the client.
Your dog, just like a child, needs training to behave well while with you, around people and other dogs, indoors and outdoors alike. Dogs are our best friends, our fur babies and we want to be able to have them around us wherever we are or go. It is very important that they are trained to be obedient and behave.
Your life with your dog will be so much more joyous if your dog listens and follows your commands. A happy, well trained, mentally and physically stimulated dog will make your bond with him/her a wonderful gift. I can help you reach this connection by guiding you and advising you either from early ages (puppyhood) or from any given time you get a dog.
Smart Owners. Smarter Dogs.
Using the LIMA Approach (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive), we focus on creating a puppy-human relationship built on positive interaction and consistency. These coaching sessions allow the owner to learn how to train the dog to improve its behaviour.
Over a series of sessions you will learn to teach your puppy to come when called, to follow you from a distance, play fetch, hide and seek, sit, down, and stand. Guidance on how to prevent unruly behaviours will also be provided. These sessions are intended for owners and puppies together and typically occur at client’s homes.
Focused Training is the best option for clients who need their dog's trained in basic skills or problem areas but don't personally have the time. Training is also beneficial for those with limited physical abilities. Training sessions typically occur at client’s homes or public parks.
These behaviour training include: Sit, Sit-Stay, Down, Down-Stay, Stand, Focus, Release, Take it, Leave it, Heel, Loose leash walking and Come. Obedience & Behaviour Training is like sending your dog to school; over a series of sessions we will get your dog on track for a happy life of obedience.
Johanna is an Animal Behaviour College (ABC) graduate and certified dog trainer, offering basic obedience training and problem resolution training in the Durham Region of Ontario, Canada, focusing mainly on private or small group sessions.
My passion for dogs started in early childhood, when my best friend and bodyguard was my indomitable vizsla, Csoki. We roamed the hills of my small village—swimming, biking, playing soccer, and sledding in the wintertime.
Having this wonderful dog around growing up ignited my passion for dogs later on. I want and wish every dog owner would form a bond with their dog similar to how mine was. This is why I chose this career and my mission is to make it possible for YOU too.
